Struggling
with her father's death, Nina meets Jared Ryel, presumably by chance. However
it soon becomes clear that he knows more about her than even close friends.
When her father's former associates begin following her in the dark, Nina
learns that her father was not the man she thought he was, but a thief who
stole from demons. In searching for the truth behind her father's death, she
stumbles upon something she never expected, and something Hell wants, that only
she holds the key for. Jared risks everything to keep the women he was born to
save, by sharing the secret he was sworn to protect.
Plot:
This is
basically how the story starts: Nina is a student at Brown who just lost her
dad. No need to say that she is utterly devastated and her world is about to be turned upside down.
That exact same day she
meets Jared – a 23 year-old guy who tries to cheer her up a little bit. In the
next days, they repeatedly bump into each other as if Fate kept bringing them
together. He is probably the kindest and the most loving person ever (I didn't tell you yet about his smile, did I?)
Anyway, in spite of his exceptional personality,
there seems to be many mysteries surrounding him and he never says a single
thing about himself. Where does his strength come from? How does he constantly
know when Nina is in danger?
Little did Nina know that Jared is actually her guardian angel and had never been able to get close to her before as their respective fathers had forbid it. And yet, Jared has been in love with her for years.
When he
decides to share his secret, nothing will be the same for Nina and Jared. More and more questions will come up, leaving the both of them fighting for what they truly want.

He would sell his warrior soul to possess her...
An alluring laird...
He was known throughout the kingdom as Hawk, legendary predator of the battlefield and the boudoir. No woman could refuse his touch, but no woman ever stirred his heart—until a vengeful fairy tumbled Adrienne de Simone out of modern-day Seattle and into medieval Scotland. Captive in a century not her own, entirely too bold, too outspoken, she was an irresistible challenge to the sixteenth-century rogue. Coerced into a marriage with Hawk, Adrienne vowed to keep him at arm's length—but his sweet seduction played havoc with her resolve.
A prisoner in time...
She had a perfect "no" on her perfect lips for the notorious laird, but Hawk swore she would whisper his name with desire, begging for the passion he longed to ignite within her. Not even the barriers of time and space would keep him from winning her love. Despite her uncertainty about following the promptings of her own passionate heart, Adrienne's reservations were no match for Hawk's determination to keep her by his side...

Plot:
Hawk is the laird of Dalkeith-Upon-the-Sea. He has served his King for over 15 years. The King clearly hated him because his mother had refused to marry him a few decades ago. He made Hawk do things to humiliate him and he pressured him by threatening to destroy Dalkeith-Upon-the-Sea. Thus, Hawk is known by all the ladies to be the best lover they have ever encountered. There have been songs written about all his exploits in bed and even the fairy world knows all about it for their queen has succumbed to his charms. The King and his Fool do not like the fact that the Queen has been so enchanted by this human and they decide to take revenge by finding a woman who has sworn off of handsome men. The existence of genies may be the best kept secret in the history of the world.
After being trapped in the Sahara Desert her whole life, sixteen-year-old genie Brielle finally gets her first assignment in Tri-Cities, Washington. She eagerly heads out into the human world to grant her first wish so she can gain her magic. Unfortunately, her assigned human, Addie, gave up believing in wishes years ago and would much rather everyone just leave her alone.
Complicating everything is Rock, Brielle’s childhood friend turned enemy. Brielle doesn’t need him ruining her first trip out into the human world. Too bad she can’t keep her mind--or her eyes--off him and his annoyingly cute dimples.
To make matters worse, genies in the Tri-Cities area are suspiciously dying. One broken lamp could be an accident, but after three, Brielle suspects someone has uncovered the genies’ secret and is slowly killing them off one by one.
With the Genie Council ignoring the threat, Brielle desperately needs to gain her magic so she can stop the murderer before she--or Rock--is the next genie to die.
Plot:
Brielle was born a genie. As every genie before her, on her twelfth birthday her lamp will be assigned to a human. As soon as her human makes a wish, her magic is unlocked to grant wishes. Unfortunately, everything does not work out the way it should. For a genie, being without any magic and on lock down is basically the worst thing that could happen. Finally, after four years of waiting, her wish is fulfilled (kind of ironic for a genie, isn't it?) and she is assigned to her first human.
She is assigned to a caretaker, whose name is Vicky. Basically, the caretaker is the person who will help you adjust to human life. She understands very quickly that she has been assigned to a human only because one of the genie in the region has been killed. And this is when our story begins. Nor does she have to help out her protégée but she also has to find out who kills every genie in the region and why? In her quest, she will bring along Vicky and Rock - another genie in the region. And let me tell you that the attraction between Rock and Brielle is quite... rocky (I know, probably the worst play with words but that's how you love me). They go from hate to "friendship" and then to a possible love.

Circe Quinn goes to
sleep at home and wakes up in a corral filled with women wearing sacrificial
virgin attire - and she is one of them. She soon finds out that she’s not
having a wild dream, she’s living a frightening nightmare where she’s been
transported to a barren land populated by a primitive people and in short
order, she’s installed very unwillingly on her white throne of horns as their
Queen.
Dax Lahn is the king of Suh Tunak, The Horde of
the nation of Korwahk and with one look at Circe, he knows she will be his
bride and together they will start The Golden Dynasty of legend.
Circe and Lahn are separated by language, culture
and the small fact she’s from a parallel universe and has no idea how she got
there or how to get home. But facing challenge after challenge, Circe finds her
footing as Queen of the brutal Korwahk Horde and wife to its King, then she
makes friends then she finds herself falling in love with this primitive land,
its people and especially their savage leader.

Plot:
The first few pages of the book start with a woman
covered in blood and running for her life. She does not know why she is here
and how she went from going to sleep in Seattle to waking up in a desert
running for her life. She is chased by a man on a horse and then BAM! We’re
back an hour before the Wife Hunt (I know, our feminist side just crushed).
Welcome to a primitive alternative world where women
and warriors are two very different categories of people. During the Wife Hunt,
warriors fight over women who may be lucky (or not) to become their future wife.
This is when the King – Lahn, the Dax (King) – notices Circe. He wants her and
God if he doesn’t get her even it means cheating. After all, why being a King
if you cannot change the rules from time to time. The King – her now husband –
doesn’t take no for an answer and doesn’t really understand that a woman
covered in blood may be frightened to do anything. Their first night, he rapes
her because in this new world, it means he is laying a claim on her and she is
officially becoming his wife. I know, it’s harsh! Throughout the book you will
hear so many times “It’s their tradition!”. Even Circe gets pissed off at some
point and I can clearly understand why.

There is a specific reading order for the Night Huntress Series including all other Night Huntress World series books, and some novellas. I will try to write the reviews in the order. If not, I will say it before going further.

Plot:
I have read this series a while ago but it was a pleasure for me to re-read the whole Night Huntress books.
Welcome in the Night Huntress world! Meet Cat, Justina, Bones,
Spade, Timmy… You are about to fall in love with all the characters. Even Justina. The
characters are funny and still very touching.
Throughout the book, you have action over action; no break. We feel Cat become confused, sad, angry... She is struggling to understand where she belongs in this world considering that she is half-human and half-vampire. Her mom always resented her because of her true nature. Cat was born from a rape. She has been bred to kill vampires so that her mom can feel safe again and start seeing her as her daughter and not just a mistake she did not dare to get rid off.
This is how she meets Bones, a real sexy vampire. Let me tell you my little lambs, these two characters have more chemistry than Earth has (it’s just insane how jealous I am of her!). Bones looks like
the real bad guy at first but he turns out to be the sweetest and sexiest guy ever! Anyway, this is
how starts the first page of the book.
